The study found that as many as 50% of children and adults are deficient in vitamin D. 

Low levels of vitamin D will cause your body to increase the risk of diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer and multiple sclerosis that damage the nerves of the brain and spinal cord. 

Vitamin D deficiency also causes stress or disturbances in mood. 

Recent research has shown that vitamin D can affect the quantity and quality of sleep. 

The study was conducted at 3,048 men aged 68 years or more. 

Researchers do blood tests to measure levels of vitamin D.

The Surprising Results

The results of these studies indicate that there are 16% of individuals had levels of vitamin D are fairly low. 

This study also looked at other factors which consisted of the season, body mass index, age, state of health, and physical. 

The researcher says that low levels of vitamin D can cause a person to experience a sleep disorder such as sleep less than 5 hours of sleep that is not restful.
