Home First Aid Kit for Toothache Treatments

Toothache is one of the not severe diseases that give you the most annoying painful time. Moreover if the pain comes at the midnight, you might don’t want to knock on the dentist door at those time, do you? So, is there any home treatment for reducing the pain?

1. Cool compress

To fight the swelling and pain, you can place a small ice cube in a plastic bag as a cool compress. Wrap it with a thin cloth and apply it to the aching tooth for about 15 minutes. The cold of ice will help to numb the nerves of your painful tooth. Then, you can also apply the ice pack on your cheek over the aching tooth.

2. A glass of salt water

Stir a glass of warm water with a teaspoon of salt. Rinse your mouth with it for about 30 seconds before spit it out. The salt water helps to cleanse the tooth and take out some fluids that cause swelling.

3. Peppermint tea

Stir 1 teaspoon dried peppermint leaves with a cup of boiling water. Steep and cool it down for 20 minutes. Rinse it around your mouth then swallow or spit it out.

4. Chewing gum

Softened chewing gum can reduce the pain of broken tooth or lost a filling.

If the pain don’t lessen or worsened, you can take acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) to fight the pain before seeing the dentist.
